Default So Much Changed...

I probably posted this in the wrong place, if so sorry a bout that mods.

It's been a LONG time since I've played Guild Wars, not by choice. My computer decided to get anal and kept freezing GW up, apparently a discrepincy between my video card, drivers and sound. Not exactly sure what still today. Finally it has been fixed with the aquisition of a new Video Card, I feel foreign to both these boards and the game, so many things have changed, here and there. I haven't had a chance to read all the update logs, I've been gone since early late June/early July.

My question to everyone would be, for the sake of making things quicker for me, in regard to getting re-familiar with the game, what all is new? That I should know about that is. I've seen the scrolls and heard of the keys, but I have no idea about them yet. What else would you guys honestly say is a must-know for someone who has been gone for so long? Again, not by choice, but by situation?

And a nice long wave to all of those I knew here, another explanation why I'm so foreign here is my net died for two and a half months too, go figure? GW and my net. NOW, all is well and I've come back to the game I've loved since the Betas... So, care to gimme a little hand guys?

I was declared king of the game, but they nerfed me too, and now I'm just a regular player

The best advice I can give, is to make a new character. Start fresh, and learn as you go. it seems I do it every time there is a new update.

Let me know if I can help in any way.

Go to guildwars.com and check the update notes. It is the best overview you'll get I guess...

I left guildwars for a while also around July.. Altho for me it was by choice. I had to get back a bit and do other stuff. I came back at it recently and there's a lot of changes. You should check at this to see all the updates.

Refund attributes system is gone. You can change your attributes at will in town/outposts, but not out on mission / explore zones.

PvE enemies run out of AoE DoT's if they've been getting hit by one for a few seconds. That's the biggest change in terms of gameplay. Other than that, check out the skill balance changes too.

As previously mentioned, there was a big Halloween bash where some towns were redesigned temporarily to be Halloween stylez and special items were available from some new collectors that were neat little gimicks with little to no real use. Some people also got a pumpkin mask (that is only available customized to the people who got it, aka, you can't get one now). All of that is gone now however, but some people still may be selling Halloween items from time to time for high prices trying to make a profit.

As for the whole Sorrow's Furnace thing, if you go north of Camp Rankor to Deldrimor War Camp, there is a new area available outside of that town called Sorrow's Furnace. Basically this has become a new hot farming spot for many since the bosses around and inside SF drop new items that are green rather than gold or purple. While these are usually better than most gold or purple items, this is not always the case. To see what green items are available, go here:

http://www.guildwiki.org/wiki/Unique_items_list

to see the prices they tend to sell for, go here:

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=66631

Hope this helps...

I know well enough how to play still, that I never forgot, it was all the new little changes, and wow, if they're smart enough to run from AoE, ew, bad monsters. I ran though half of Mines of Malodune for the eleventh time today to test it to make sure my vid card wsa working right. I ran that mission as my tester so to speak, I got armor infused and all but with no one to help me but henchies... well life sucked.

Wow, no more attribute change refund thng? Hrm, strange. I DO see they added guild cape/helm toggle, now THAT is cool. Also the guest guild accounts, though... the fact it only lasts eight hours is a bit of a rip for the gold. I thought that was some sort of thing to get people to join, meh.

I'm so glad to be back, now to balance between my two faves, Guild Wars and Animal Crossing Wild World, which I just got addicted to as well... Heh heh...

Thanks so much guys for the helpful advice bits, its so good to be back where I belong...
